Srikakulam: Hyderabad-based environment protection training and research institute (EPTRI) on Thursday initiated steps to prepare public biodiversity register. They began the exercise at Sompeta with the assistance of local Environment Protection Committee founder Y Krishna Murthy.
Speaking on the occasion, EPTRI member S Rajendar Naresh explained that aim of preparation of this register is to explain importance of ensuring ecological balance, biodiversity on earth to lead healthy life of all living beings. Beela wetlands located in Sompeta mandal were recognised as one of the noted biodiversity locations in the world.
