Prakasam fencers selected for national championship

Ongole: The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that five players from Prakasam district were selected for the 27th National Level (Under 20) Championship, scheduled in this month.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association president and secretary of Prakasam district Fencing Association, V Nageswara Rao said that the players were selected for the national championship based on their performance in the individual categories in the 5th Under-20 state-level championship held from November 2 to 3 in Kakinada in East Godavari district.
He said that the gold medal winner in sabre category E Sivani, gold and bronze medal winners in epee category S Sridhan and G Manikantha, bronze medals winners in foil category G Rachana Reddy and G Ramanjaneyulu are selected to represent the state in the national championship.
He added that these players will participate in the 27th National Level (Under 20) Championship scheduled from November 9 to 12 at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh state. The Prakasam district fencing association president Balisetty Nageswara Rao congratulated the players and coaches R Naga Chiranjeevi, B Bharat and R Vijayalakshmi and appreciated the players for selecting for the national championship.
