The water level reached 16 metres at PLIS against its minimum water drawing level of 14 metres. As many as 8,500 cusecs of water was released to Krishna delta through Polavaram right main canal.
The farmers along with the TDP leaders welcomed the Godavari water in Krishna district.
Former Minister and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh and former Water Resources Minister Devineni Uma visited the Polavaram canal at Sitaramapuram in Krishna district. They welcomed the water and also offered special pujas.
On this occasion, Lokesh recalled that Jagan was against the Pattiseema Project. He also recalled that former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu completed the Pattiseema Project in a short span to save the farmers of Krishna delta.
Jagan wanted to stop Pattiseema Project but now the government was compelled to release water to delta needs, he said.

He said that the Chief Minister visited Kaleswaram Project but he could not digest the greatness of Pattiseema.
MLC Bachula Arjunudu, MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, former Minister K S Jawahar, TDP leaders Gadde Anuradha, Muddaraboina Venkateswara Rao, Devineni Avinash and several other leaders were present.
