Elaborate arrangements for Ganesh immersion in Nandyal

Nandyal: Elaborate arrangements have been made for Ganesh immersion in Nandyal to ensure the festivities pass off peacefully without public inconvenience, said Minister for Law and Minority Welfare MD Farooq.

He participated in the immersion of the administrative Ganesh idol at Chinna Cheruvu on Friday along with district Collector G Raja Kumari, SP Suneel Sheoran, Trainee Deputy Collector Priyanka and other officials.

The Minister stated that all departments were working in close coordination, focusing on law and order, traffic management, sanitation, power supply and drinking water. Police, revenue, municipal and other departments had taken measures to prevent any untoward incidents. He thanked the Collector, SP, police personnel and officials for their efforts and appealed to organisers, devotees and the public to cooperate for smooth celebrations. Collector Raja Kumari noted that the five-day Ganesh festivities across the district had been held with devotion and enthusiasm. She expressed satisfaction over the peaceful immersion and appreciated the police and officials, particularly SP Sheoran’s field-level supervision. She thanked public representatives, committee members and citizens for their support. Praying to Lord Ganesh for good rainfall essential for Rabi and other crops, she wished prosperity for the people and urged youth to utilise government opportunities for higher achievements.

SP Suneel Sheoran reported that around 70 per cent of the idols in Nandyal town had already been immersed peacefully on third and fourth days. Arrangements, including adequate water facilities despite poor rainfall, were in place for the remaining immersions. He appealed to organisers to adhere to permissions, follow designated routes and sequences, and cooperate with police to avoid congestion, ensuring the festivities conclude peacefully through coordinated efforts.
