Nellore: A delegation of senior BJP leaders, led by State Namami Gange Convenor Midathala Ramesh and Pernati Ranga Reddy, met Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy in Nellore on Sunday.
Submitting a representation, they requested immediate measures to supply Veligonda project waters to drought-prone, upland, and fluoride-affected villages. They stressed that delays in filling the Pedda Reddy Palli Reservoir have caused severe anxiety among local farmers.
Minister Anam assured the delegation that he would personally coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure Veligonda waters reach the drought-hit belts in Nellore district at the earliest.
