Nellore: Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy stated that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is extending unwavering support to the Endowments Department by liberally sanctioning funds for the reconstruction and infrastructure development of ancient temples across Andhra Pradesh.

Minister Anam, alongside Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for various developmental works worth Rs 8.74 crore at the famous Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Narasimhakonda on Sunday. Speaking at the gathering, Minister Anam highlighted that despite severe state financial constraints, the coalition government remains committed to restoring the ancient glory of temples.

As a prime example of this commitment, he cited the extension of the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam scheme to 12,000 temples statewide, with monthly support raised to Rs 10,000 per temple.

Recalling his long-standing bond with the region, he noted that during his previous tenure as Tourism Minister, seven temple ponds and mandapams were constructed atop the shrine. He revealed that upon MLA Kotamreddy’s representation, Rs 13.26 crore has been sanctioned for Nellore Rural constituency, including Rs 11.85 crore for seven ancient temples and Rs 1.30 crore under the Srivani Trust.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy expressed happiness over the project, calling the temple’s development a crowning moment of his 12-year legislative tenure.

He added that governance is progressing rapidly under the guidance of CM Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh.
