Yanam youth held for cheating woman in Suraypet
Suraypet: The Suryapet town police have arrested the accused Karri Sathish, who looted gold from a woman of Suryapet town in the name of love, and recovered 20 tolas of gold from his possession.
According to Suryapet DSP Nageshwar Rao and Town CI Shiva Shankar, the accused Karri Sathish (29), a native of Yanam downloaded Instagram app on his phone and developed rapport with a young woman from Suyapet town after seeing her profile picture on the app by making regular phone calls to her. He trapped the lady in the name of love and promised to marry her. In this connection, he came to Suryapet thrice and met the woman.
Taking the advantage of her innocence, he asked for financial help of Rs 20 lakh to buy a car to expand his real estate business.
Believing his promises, the victim woman handed over the gold that she kept in a store at her grandfather's house. The woman's grandfather Biksham Reddy lodged a complaint with local police station about the missing gold from his residence.
When the woman demanded Sathish to return the gold, he blackmailed and threatened to post their intimate pictures on social media websites.
The victim who was shocked at Sathish behavior could muster courage after three months of the incident and explained the entire episode to her grandfather and sought police help to teach a lesson to Sathish.
Police after recording the statement of the victim arrested Sathish at his residence in Yanam and recovered 20 tolas of gold from his possession. Sathish confessed to his crime during the interrogation.
