Bhadrachalam: Padma Shri awardee Vanajeevi Ramaiah planted saplings in the park here on Sunday. The programme was conducted by Green Bhadradri organisation.
Later speaking with the media, Ramaiah appreciated the Green Bhadradri organisation and JD foundation, which are striving to increase greenery and conducting programmes to make the temple town as plastic-free.
He appealed to the people to protect plants and they will protect the people. Green Bhadradri organisation representatives P Desappa, G Bhupathi Rao, Khambhati Suresh, K Krishnarjuna Rao, Umashanker Naidu, Sampath, Tirumal Rao, JD Foundation convenor Murali Mohan, member K Naga Raju and others participated in the programme.
