Swachh programme held at Anantagiri

Anantagiri: Swachh Anantagiri programme was organised here on Friday to mark the World Tourism Day. District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam flagged off the event at Jinka centre. Plastic waste left behind by the visitors was cleaned. Participants were divided into six groups and they spread around and collected plastic waste.

As many as 12 tractors of plastic was collected and sent to the dumping yard. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the Anantagiri should be protected from plastic.

She warned that action would be taken if anyone was found throwing plastic and garbage recklessly. DFO M Venumadhava Rao, staff of forest, municipal departments, student volunteers, members of various associations and others were present.
