SSC exams 2020 postponed for all students across Telangana
Hours after the state High Court directed the government to hold the SSC exams in the state except in GHMC limits, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday directed the officials to postpone the exams for all the students across the state.
The decision has been taken by the Chief Minister in the result of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state. KCR said that if the exams were not held simultaneously across the state, a lot of confusion will be created among the students. Announcing the government's decision, Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy said that no exams will be conducted until further notice.
Earlier in the day, the High Court accorded permission on the conduct of exams across the state except in the GHMC limits. And those students should be permitted to advanced supplementary exams, the court said adding that those who pass in the exams will be considered as regular students.
The SSC exams 2020 were supposed to be held in the state from June 8 to July 5, 2020 by following precautionary measures against COVID-19.
So far, only three examinations including first language Paper-I and II and second language were conducted. The remaining were postponed following directions from the High Court in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
