Nellore: Take measures for smooth conduct of Inter, SSC exams

Nellore: The coordination committee meeting headed by District Collector M Harinarayanan has stressed the need for cooperation between various departments in the interest of conducting Intermediate and SSC examinations in a smooth manner the district.

The meeting has also decided to set up coordination committees at mandal and municipalities level in the interest of providing infrastructure facilities at examination centres.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the Intermediate examinations will be held from March 1 to March 20. They will be conducted between 9 am and 12 noon. He said that administration has set up 81 centres in the interest of as many as 52,076 students attending the examinations across the district.

Of these, 25,202 students belong to the first year and 24,243 to second year and 2,631 students pursuing vocational courses. He said that four flying squads have been set up to ensure proper conduct of the examinations.

The SSC examinations will be held from March 18 to March 30. They will be conducted 9.30 am and 12.45 pm. As many as 32,834 students will be attending the examinations in 176 examination centres across the district. Ten flying squads have been set up for SSC exams.

The Collector has directed the officials to ensure that students reach the examination centers one hour before the scheduled time.

He directed the police officials to make tight security arrangements at examination centres. Prohibitory orders under Section-144 should be implemented.

The Collector has ordered the APSRTC to initiate steps for operating more bus services especially in rural areas in the interest of students reaching the examination centres one hour ahead of the scheduled time of examinations. Municipal Commissioner Vikas Marmat, DRO Lavanna, ASP K Srinivasulu, DTC Chandar, DEO Lakshmi and others were present.
