Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police booked a case of cheating and forgery in a case of land grabbing against former BRS MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar. Following a complaint by Chinta Madhav of Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NECL) alleging trespass, acts of conspiracy, and forgery with regard to the company’s land in the upmarket area of Banjara Hills, a case was registered by the police.

In its complaint, the representatives of the company explained that the land spread across 1,350 sq yds on Banjara Hills Road No 14 was purchased in 2010.

The company also has a statement of encumbrance on the property in Sy No 129/54 on Road No 14. However, the company’s representatives were shocked to know that construction has come up in the vicinity with two rooms.

When enquired with the GHMC, the NECL found that those who have come up with the structure were also paying tax. It was found that the tax was being paid on the premises by Santosh Kumar and one Linga Sridhar Reddy by fabricating the door numbers. The NECL alleged that the trespassers also created a forged and fabricated document with the intention of grabbing the land.

The Banjara Hills police registered a case under Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery), 471 (forging document), 447 (criminal trespass), and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) against the duo Linga Reddy and Santosh Kumar and began an investigation.
