Santosh denies forgery, claims legitimate land acquisition

Hyderabad: Asserting that he had acquired the land legitimately and dismissing the accusations of forgery, former MP J Santosh of BRS stated on Sunday his preparedness to confront legal repercussions. Additionally, he cautioned that legal measures would be pursued against individuals levying baseless charges.

The BRS leader gave a clarification on the case registered against him in the Banjara Hills police station, alleging encroaching on land with forgery documents.

In a press release issued, Santosh said that he legally purchased 904 square yards of house land situated in survey number 129/54 in Shaikpet mandal from a person named Shyamsunder Fuljal (father PV Hanmantha Rao) in 2016 (sale deed no 5917/2016, November 11, 2016). He said he had paid over Rs 3.81 crore and bought it through a sale deed under the authority of the registration department. “So the word forgery does not apply. That is not true. No litigation has arisen for eight years. No one contacted me. Shyamsunder was the one who sold me the house plot, purchased the land in 1992 via sale deed no 1888/1992. He made it clear to me that there have been no legal disputes since then. That means there has been no litigation on that land for almost 32 years,” said Santosh.

Santosh, who is also the nephew of BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao, said that no construction was done on that land after he purchased it. He said that if there were any legal issues, then first a legal notice should be sent to him and he should seek an explanation.

“But without anything like that, they directly complained to the police station that forgery was done. The police and media claim that the area of the disputed house is 1,350 yards. But note that what I have bought is 904 yards of house land,” said Santosh.

The BRS leader said that from this, it was clear that the case was registered with political malice.

“People are misconstruing facts by levying unwarranted accusations regarding the property I purchased with my own money. I am innocent of any wrongdoing. Anyone is welcome to investigate the land I acquired; I have no objections. I am prepared to undergo legal proceedings,” he said, adding that it was easy to understand why a 32-year-old controversy had come to the fore anew. “It would not be tolerated if a political party tried to throw mud at BRS and on him. I will take legal action against those who make false accusations and seek to harm my personal reputation,” he said.
