Hyderabad: The ongoing TSRTC strike has been causing untold difficulties to commuters as conductors continue to charge exorbitant prices, to avoid this the TRSTC would be giving Ticket Issuing Machines (TIMs) to all the buses including the hire buses from Sunday.

Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar said that the government was in the process of talking to the companies manufacturing TIMs. The workers unions have dragged the supervisors into the strike, which was never in the past.

The supervisors are the ones who disburse TIMs to the conductors. The officials will ensure enough TIMs are in place from Sunday. Apart from these, special squads have also been formed to keep a check on the exorbitant charging, said Ajay Kumar.

The Minister claimed that the decision of RTC workers to go on strike has boomeranged and added that the RTC was still running even though the workers were not in duties.

The Minister further said that the Corporation would run more buses in coming days and also claimed that government was victorious in tackling the strike by running buses and avoiding inconvenience to the people.

"The opposition parties are not thinking in people's perspective. They are supporting the strike which is causing inconvenience to the people," said Ajay Kumar. He also said that TRS had never made a promise to merge RTC with government.

Replying to a question, he said Telangana government need not do what the Andhra Pradesh government is doing.
