RTC staff protest against management orders
Hyderabad: Even after warning from the depot managers, the TSRTC workers took up protest at some depots against directions to submit letters to the Labour Commissioner stating that they do not want unions.
The depot managers had warned the RTC workers and asked them to attend charted duties on reporting time and also said that if the workers get absent, they would be treated as absent even for next day.
Some of the conductors who came to the Musheerabad-1 depot after their journeys late night on Thursday were shocked after the depot managers allegedly refused to take the collected ticket money until the workers signed the papers stating that they do not want unions in the Corporation and the union election should be postponed by two years.
Condemning the orders of the depot managers, the workers argued with the officials and also protested near depots including Musherabad-1 depot, Tandur depot and others in the State.
RTC JAC co-convener K Raji Reddy said that the JAC condemns terrorising the workers and making them forcibly sign the papers.
"Without giving guidelines, rules of the workers council, asking the workers to sign letters was not good. The officials should stop the harassment of the workers," said Raji Reddy.
