Employees Union general secretary K Raji Reddy alleged that the TMU had failed to address workers issues. “Though it could provide facilities for the workers, it had done nothing to solve the problem of work burden on them,” said Raji Reddy.

TJMU general secretary K Hanumanthu Mudiraj claimed that most of the employees/ members from various unions/units/depots had joined TJMU and alleged that the TMU had failed to serve the working class in TSRTC. “We have a strong hope of getting the recognition in upcoming election,” said Hanumanthu.

The Union leaders requested the Labour Commissioner to conduct fresh union membership verification in TSRTC, determining of the recognition under Clause (3) and (6) of the Code of Discipline immediately and advise the TSRTC management.

The unions have also demanded the Labour Commi ssioner to abolish all the privileges which were given to the recognised unions in TSRTC. Meanwhile, the election process starts once the Labour Commissioner starts the verification of labour unions. In APSRTC, the EU has defeated NMU to get the tag of a recognised union.
