Rich tributes paid to Savitribai pule in Tandur

Tandur: The Tandur constituency convenor of BC Association, Rajkumar, garlanded the portrait of Savitribai Pule on the occasion of her 123rd death anniversary here on Tuesday at Jyothiba Pule Residential School. After paying tributes, he said Savitribai strove for the uplift of marginalised sections. She carried out several agitations for educating women in those days, he added. Town BC Association president Rajan Goud, members of Sardar Patel Youth Association, K Siddalingam, BC Association leaders Ramesh, Ramu Mudiraj, in-charge principal Sridevi, teachers and students were among those who paid tributes to Savitribai.

Savitribai Phule remembered

Pargi: The death anniversary of Savitribai Phule was observed here on Tuesday. Speakers at the event said that the first woman teacher in India, Savitribai fought for the uplift of women belonging to marginalised sections. They said that it was difficult to completely tell the accomplishments of a couple who lived together with the same spirit. Peer Mohammed, LHPS Govind Naik, AISF district president Chennaiah, MRPS leaders Ramesh, Mohammed Rafeeq and others were present.
