Savitribai Pule remembered in Amalapuram

Amalapuram: Social activist B Radhamma has said every woman should emulate great reformer Savitribai Pule who struggled for women empowerment in the country.

Paying tributes to the great woman in connection with her birth anniversary celebrations held here on Thursday, Radhamma said Savitribai Pule was the first woman teacher in the country. 

With the help of her husband and great social reformer Jyothirao Pule, she started teaching women in those days though many prevented and insulted her. Moreover, she was a writer, great orator and good teacher. 

Savtribai Pule never rollback on her decision and marched ahead for the welfare of women. Finally, she succeeded in her endeavour and raised curtain to a new history.
