Nalgonda: 9 of 17 illegal abortions accused arrested
Nalgonda: Chityal police arrested a gang of RMPs and their supporters who performed illegal abortions by conducting pre-natal gender screening tests.
Out of a gang of 17, the police arrested nine offenders and sent them to jail after producing them before the judge of Ramannapet Court in the Yadadri-Bhongir district.
Nalgonda DSP Venkateshwar Reddy in a press meet arranged at his office stated that eight accused in connection with illegal abortions were absconding and will be arrested at the earliest.
He informed that Bhavani Hospital, Sai Teja Hospital of Chityal, Usharani Hospital of Choutuppal and Chaitanya Hospital of Narketpally were seized on the charges of supporting illegal abortions by violating the norms of pre-conception and pre-natal diagnostic techniques act- 1994.
The police has filed cases against all the accused as per the act and seized ultra sound scanning machine, cell phones and pocket dairies from the arrested accused.
At this press meet, Narketpally CI Shankar Reddy and SI Nagaraju were also present.
