Minister G Jagadish Reddy inaugurates dist-level athletic meet for model schools

Penpahad (Suryapet): Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy has said that the government has been striving for the development of sports in the state.

The minister inaugurated district level athletics meet for model schools in the premises of Model school at Anajipuram of Penpahad mandal in the district. He received `guard of honour' from the sports persons and addressed the gathering. He stated that previous governments never bothered to provide quality education facilities to the poor in Telangana.

But TRS government has been giving top priority in providing quality education to the poor children. The government established several model schools across the state and providing quality education and food to the children, he said.

Giving details of success rate of students of model schools , he said that students of Model schools were able to get significant number of seats in IITs , NITs and in Medical colleges.

He advised students to give equal priority to sports and education and realise the dreams with physical fitness and mental balance by playing sports regularly.

Later, he laid foundation stone for kitchen and dining hall in the school premises. School principal Pramila , local body representatives , physical directors and sports persons from various Model schools were present.
