Chivemla (Suryapet): Tractors have been provided to gram panchayats to maintain cleanliness in villages and also to create a healthy environment, said Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy. On Tuesday, the Minister handed over tractors to both Chivemla and Chandupatla gram panchayats during a programme held at Chivemla in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi and has been striving tirelessly for the uplift of all villagers in the State.

He added that the fate of rural areas changed with implementation of Palle Pragathi through which the government has been pumping funds for the development of infrastructure and other facilities in the villages.

Stating that no government in the country was supplying tractors to gram panchayats other than the Telangana government, the Energy Minister informed that the State government has become a role model to other States with its innovative development and welfare schemes.

He wished that with involvement of locals and support from the government, all the villages in the State would have expanded green cover in the coming up days. ZPTC Sanjeeva Reddy, MPP Kumari, Sarpanch Sudhakar Reddy, local representatives of both villages, TRS leaders and supporters attended the programme.
