Mahbubnagar Collector Ronald Rose conducts surprise inspection of sink pits

Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose conducted surprise inspection of sink pits at Macharam village of Jadcherla Mandal in Mahbubnagar district on Thursday.

According to reports, some people were claiming the bills without construction of sink pits hence the District Collector decided to take up surprise inspection and visited Macharam mandal. The District Collector inspected each and every household in the village, whoever claimed to have built the sink pits and were seeking bills for the same.

While inspecting the sink pits, the Collector expressed his displeasure at the low-quality construction of the sink pits and directed the concerned officials to make sure the bills were released only when the sink pits were completed fully adhering to all kinds of quality measures.

Earlier, Macharam village was selected for 'Model village' as part of which each and every household in the village were to have a sink pit, an individual household latrine for which the administration launched all kinds of welfare schemes to all poor households in the village.

Addressing the villagers, the District Collector advised them to construct sink pits for which the government was providing funds. He also urged the villagers to plant trees at the houses and wherever possible.

"Sink pits and planting trees are most important programmes to improve ground water table and for getting timely rains. It is high time each and every individual in the village extend their helping hand towards these novel programmes, which would not only provide us with water, but also help us in protecting our environment," he said.
