Mahbubnagar District Collector accepts Green Challenge, plants sapling
Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose accepted the green challenge thrown by Khammam District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed and planted a sapling at the Collector's camp office on Tuesday. The Green Challenge was started by Rajya Sabha member Joginapally Santhosh Kumar a few days ago
While speaking on the occasion, Mahbubnagar District Collector stressed on the need to plant more saplings across the district. He said planting trees will improve the health conditions of our environment and will provide more rains and improve the air quality.
"Each and every individual must take the social responsibility of planting a tree and extend their helping hand towards making our environment better," said the Collector. The District Collector appealed to people that wherever there is suitable condition for the growth of trees and plants, people must plant trees.
Extending the green challenge, Ronald Rose challenged the District Collectors of Jogulamba Gadwal, Wanaparthy and Narayanpet to take up plantation programmes in a big way in their respective districts. Later, the District Collector inaugurated a logo of Green Challenge. S Panduranga Rao, District public relations officer, Purushottam, Green Challenge Coordinator, Munnur Ravi and others participated in the programme.
