Musheerabad: Several BC leaders from Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh led by R Krishnaiah, national president of BC welfare association, met the new BJP president JP Nadda at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday, and raised various BC issues.

Speaking to media from New Delhi, R Krishnaiah said that 70 crore BCs had not received fruits of independence even after 72 years of independence. He questioned how BCs could empower themselves without political power. Without developing downtrodden sections of the society, it is impossible to transform India into a developed nation. To eliminate social inequities, political reservations should be given to BCs based on their population. Krishnaiah said that they urged Nadda to introduce BC bill in Parliament to provide political reservation to BCs. Among those who met Nadda were Gujja Krishna, Neela Venkatesh, Bhoopesh Sagar, Pruthviraj, Purushotham Sagar, Karri Venumadhav, Nagavalli Venkatesh, Dr Manjunath (Tamil Nadu), Dinesh Acharya (Tamil Nadu), Gopi Murugan (Tamil Nadu) and others.
