Government committed to welfare of fishermen: Muta Gopal

Musheerabad: Muta Gopal, the Musheerabad MLA, said that the State government has been taking various initiatives for the welfare of fishermen in the state. He was speaking at a programme organised by Telangana Gangaputra Sangham where the MLA released the new year diary of the association at Gangaputra Bhavan here on Sunday.

Criticising the previous state government for ignoring welfare of fishermen in the state, Muta Gopal said that TRS government had been striving for their development ever since new state was formed. He said that fishermen community had been backward, both from financial and social perspective and urged them to stage united fight for the development of their community. He expressed his happiness over several leaders from the community being elected for sarpanch, corporator and municipal chairman posts in the recently held elections. Later, the MLA felicitated those who have been elected for chairman and corporator posts in the recently held urban local body elections. Among those who participated in the program include president of Telangana Gangaputra Sangham AL Mallaiah, secretaries Veeranna, Srihari, Mallesh, Shankar, Satyanarayana, Sudhakar, Lakshmana Murthy, Mohan Das and others.
