Encourage normal deliveries in govt hospitals: Collector M Prashanthi

Nirmal: Encourage normal deliveries at government hospitals, District Collector M Prashanthi instructed the officials concerned while speaking at a review meeting with doctors and ANMs at the Collectorate's conference hall in Nirmal on Wednesday. She reviewed the activities at all primary health centres and various programmes conducted by medical and health department.

Stating that the health centres in Pembi, Dasturabad, Koutala and Lokeshwaram had conducted lesser number of normal deliveries, the Collector told them to improve the percentage of normal deliveries in government hospitals.

They were also told to identify pregnant women in their respective villages and enter their names online. She directed the ASHA workers to take up a door-to-door visit to create awareness about normal deliveries, to increase the number of normal deliveries and to create confidence on the government hospitals among the public. She also told them to conduct check-up of every pregnant woman for four times.

Prashanthi instructed the medical officers to submit the details of NHM funds before fifth of every month; to make online the out-patient cases every day; and to administer vaccines to all the children. She told the district administration to appoint officer on every topic to show better performance since State-level review is going to be held soon.

District Medical and Health Officer Vasanth Rao, hospital Superintendent Dr Naresh, Dr Srinivas, Karthik, Ashish Reddy, Mass Media Officer Satyanarayana, medical officers, supervisors, ANMs and others were present.
