Durki village to be developed as spiritual centre: Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy

Banswada: Durki village should be developed as a spiritual and tourist hub to convey the glory of Sri Somalingeshwara Swamy temple to the world, said Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

He visited Somalingeshwara Swamy temple in Durki village of Nasrullabad mandal on Monday and offered special prayers. Later, he checked the developmental works going on in the temple.

Speaker Srinivas Reddy directed the officials concerned not to disturb the original structure while carrying the work and also ordered them to complete the Kalyana Mandapam, being constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakhs, at the earliest. He felt that the Kalyana Mandapam will fetch additional income to the temple.

The Speaker said that other development works with an expenditure of Rs 50 lakhs were also taken up and directed the officials looking after these works to maintain quality.

PACK Chairman Erwala Krishna Reddy, AMC ex-Chaiman Narulu Suresh and others accompanied the Speaker on his visit.
