Kamareddy: 9.31 crore budget approved for Banswada

Kamareddy: District Collector Dr A Sharath said a budget of Rs 9.31 crore has been introduced for the development of Banswada town during the financial year of 2020-21.

He participated in a budget meeting presided over by Municipal Chairman Jangam Gangadhar at PR Garden in Banswada town on Friday. The Collector said the Banswada municipal exchequer estimated a budget of Rs 9,31,30,000 including property tax, revenue stamp duty, water charges, town planning revenue and 14th finance committee grants for 2020-21.

According to the new Municipal Act 2019, under 10% green budget, Rs 93 lakh will be utilised for greenery activities; and Rs 6.30 crore towards salaries of staff, sanitation, maintenance, current charges and other expenses.

One third of the remaining amount will be spent on the development of backwards areas and newly merged areas in BMC and the remaining funds will be expended for public needs, maintenance of parks, public works such as graveyards, public toilets, vegetable and non-vegetable market, CC roads etc.

In addition to this, about Rs 24 crore grants are being provided under 14th Finance Committee Grant, MPLAD Fund, MLC Funds and Mepma Urban Progress Schemes. The municipality will take up development programmes, identified problems in urban development programmes, greenery and sanitation work in the town with these funds.
