BC panel summons CS, RTC MD SK Joshi
Hyderabad: The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has summoned Telangana Chief Secretary SK Joshi and the TSRTC chairman and Managing Director to its head office in New Delhi on October 25.
The two state officials were asked to appear in person and submit a report on the status of continuation of striking RTC workers belonging to the OBC (Other Backward Classes) communities in the corporation.
The RTC JAC Kalwakurthy has submitted a memorandum to the Commission stating that the state government had pushed over 20,000 BC employees and their families on to the road by claiming that they were self-dismissed for taking part in the RTC strike.
They contended that there was no provision for self-dismissal and strike was their constitutional right.
Taking note of their complaint, Commission member Achary Thalloju in a letter to the Chief Secretary and the RTC MD asked the officials to submit an action taken report along with all relevant documents including the relevant files, case diaries, etc to facilitate the hearing.
Based on the complaint, the Commission has taken a serious note of the issue and decided to investigate into the matter, Achary said.
