Walt Disney retrospective

Art show by Animation and Applied Arts students of Creative Multimedia pays tribute to the pioneer of animation, Walt DisneyCreative Multimedia College of Fine Arts (CMCFA) conducted an engaging art show ‘The Walt Disney Retrospective’ as a tribute to Walt Elias Disney. A pioneer and innovator, and the possessor of one of the most fertile imaginations the world has ever known, Walt Disney, along with members of his staff, received more than 950 honors and citations from throughout the world, including 48 Academy Awards® and 7 Emmys® in his lifetime.

The art show on the man who created legendary characters like Mickey Mouse and feature length animation movies that are considered classics even today, waslaunched on February 5, 2019, at Nehru Art Gallery, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Masab Tank.The show features114 inspiring artworks created by students of CMCFA. 

They experimented with multiple mediums including ‘charcoal on paper’, ‘etching on glass’, ‘pencil on corrugated board’, ‘oil on canvas’, ‘colour on foil’, ‘paper cuttings on cardboard’ and mixed media to name just a few of the over 35 art works.Praveen Kilaru, a Visual Effects (VFX) veteran and Production Head at Digital Domain was highly appreciative of the exhibits. Pamarthy Shankar, popular caricaturisttoo attended the show.

Raja SekharBuggaveeti, CEO of Creative Multimedia Group, shared, “The Art Show is part of CMCFA’smultiple initiatives aimed at helping students build a strong foundation in drawingandfor a noble cause. The previous art show ‘Mahanati’ by CMCFA students was a great success and the proceeds of the drawings sold at the show benefited the victims of flood-ravaged Kerala.
