A colourful fair

Something that comes out with hard work and creativity is called art. Illustrating the art works, students of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) showcased their skills at the 'Mirchi 2019', The Art Hungama, an art fair, organised for the very first time in the 70 years of history is worth a visit.

Students with immense amount of talent proved themselves by illustrating their works in and around the campus. Right at the entrance of the university, a tractor made out of newspapers that gave a feeling to tour the art campus was quite fascinating, the name of the art fair carved with colourful paper cutting is truly a picture-perfect frame.

The fair that astonished people who were visiting the fair has some crazy thoughts and innovative ideas showcased in. Moving a little further, you have the students of the Department of Art and Painting exhibiting their art works and putting them on sale for the visitors.

Jhansi, a girl who is selling handmade bags and home décor made of cloth, has impressed her customers well, "I want everyone to buy some of my works and so I do not want to tag a rate for any of the works that I made. I want people to take what they like and pay me whatever they feel the work is worth of."

Manoj, a student from the Department of Art and Painting, impressed the audience with the art work that he showcased. A skeleton that has a man's face with hand and legs decorated with the ornaments of a woman truly fascinated the crowd.

"I got this idea as I have been going around along with my sister who works on the life of a transgender, I was truly inspired by their stories and then I have decided to do something that people would realise that only our outward looks captions us as male and female, but once the flesh is removed we all look the same.".

Moving around further, one could get to buy beautiful handmade jewellery, paintings, bags, handmade paper, sculptures, etc that are made by these talented students.

The open auditorium is a must visit place when you are visiting the art fair. A wonderful tribute to artist Gustav Klimt was given at the inauguration as the students made the largest tapestry of his famous works the gold paintings.

Filled with colours and art works of these brilliant minds, the campus indeed looked colourful and happy. Walls painted by students and painting that are done with lot of effort is certainly a feast for the eyes.

Each work done with a lot of concentration and hard work can truly impress and mesmerise people who are yet to visit the art fair. The art fair which started on March 30 will continue till April 2. This art fair is worth all the applause for the students who put their hard work in it.
