ECOFEST-2019 held at Bhavans College

Sainikpuri: The greEnergy club of the Department of Genetics & Biotechnology of Bhavan’s Vivekananda College of Science, Humanities, and Commerce, Sainikpuri, organised ECOFEST-2019 on Friday. The aim of this festival was to be with nature, conserve it and appreciate our planet earth. The theme of this ECOFEST-2019 is ‘Spring- Go Floral.’

The Biotechnology students of Department of Genetics & Biotechnology prepared various items with millets like Ragi, Jowar, Oats, and Bajra on the occasion of the ECOFEST 2019. They displayed these dishes and described the nutritious benefits of various millets and also advised to include millets in your daily diet. The chief guest of the event was S Hari Chandana Reddy, Project Manager, Yuvatha.

Dr Jyothi Nayar, Head of Department of Genetics & Biotechnology, said that the Eco fest was introduced in Bhavan’s Vivekananda College of Science, Humanities and Commerce, in 2012. ECOFEST was held to raise awareness among the students and other facility members about environmental ethics and healthy lifestyle, he said.
