Mini Shilparamam shaping up fast at Uppal
Uppal: Works on Mini Shilparamam at Uppal have gained momentum and are expected to be completed by Dasara. It be must be mentioned here that the Mini-Shilparam works got a fillip after MAUD Minister KTR showed keen interest in completing the project. Spread over 7.5 acres near Nagole Metro station, the Mini-Shilparamam will take its shape by using ‘nut and bolts’ instead of cement and a brick. The open land has been allotted by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the construction had started last week with the fund allocation to the tune of Rs 6 crore.
Officials had earlier said that around 50 handloom stalls and other cultural programmes would be set upwhich would meet the need and requirements of people living in the East Zone. They no longer have to rush to Shilparamam at Madhapur. The nearby areas like Uppal, Boduppal, Nagole, Habsiguda, and few other areas will be benefited by this Mini Shilparamam.” KT Rama Rao is very keen to complete the work and he has already agreed to inaugurate Mini-Shilparamam to public by Dasara. He laid the foundation stone on April 8.
The Arts, Crafts and Cultural Society and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) have jointly taken up the project and works pertaining to the entry gate, crafts village, landscaping, amphitheatre and other structures are in full swing. The amphitheatre being in the works will have a seating capacity of 1,000 and State of the art facilities will be in place for artistes to stage performances. The entire project will be developed with an ethnic theme, replicating a village atmosphere like the one at Madhapur. In tune with the steel works, landscaping, fencing and other civil works are underway.
