HRDCL swings into action to lay road
Fateh Nagar: The Hans India carried a report, ‘Damage road pose problems to commuters’ on September 15. For years, the Balkampet main road in Fatehnagar had been in a bad shape and heavy rains left several roads inundated, making it tough for commuters to find their way through. With the article published a month ago, the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) moved to action to lay the road.
Speaking to The Hans India, Deputy Executive Engineer of HRDCL Satyanarayana said that 20-crore budget has been sanctioned for the development of road, and that the work started on October 14. He said that 3.5-km white topping road from Ameerpet via Balkampet, Fateh Nagar up to Balanagar junction would be laid. He said that the Fateh Nagar flyover turned bad, as it’s a 25-year-old flyover. This is the first of its kind that the flyover will be redeveloped by constructing footpaths, rainwater system, led-light polls, he said, and added that the entire flyover would be coloured, including the new road.
Moreover, 50 per cent of the construction work of road and pedestrian walk is completed, and the entire project will be completed by the end of December. Fatehnagar TRS Party Corporator Pandala Satish Goud said, “From the past six months, I have been receiving complaints from residents, street vendors and traffic police that the Fateh Nagar Road is causing a lot of difficulties, and The Hans India also carried an article on it. Upon observing the condition of the road, I decided to develop it, and upon requesting the authorities, I came up with sufficient budget for the development of the road. Fateh Nagar flyover was turning risky for the commuters.”
