3-day ‘Balotsav’ from November 21

Bagh Lingampally: As if giving meaning to the popular belief that today’s child literature is the stepping stone for the future work, the Hyderabad Book Fair is to hold a three-day ‘Balotsav’ at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram (SVK) here on November 21, 22 and 23.

The Hyderabad Book Fair president and Telangana BC Commission memberJuluruGowrishankar made the announcement at a press conference recently, recalling that the organisation has been successfully conducting the fair in December every year. 

Balotsav chairman and secretary of the Kendram,SVinay Kumar said the festival would help focus attention on development of children. It would act as a stress reliever from their studies. 

The Balotsav co-coordinators include V S Sarma, Chokkapu Venkata Ramana, K Santa Rao, Mohana Krishna and Quayyum.

Giving details of Balotsavprogramme, Book Fair Secretary Koya Chandra Mohan stated that it was open free for participation by students of both government and private schools. 

The participants have to register names by November 20 at the Kendram. The activities during the utsav include painting in three sections, besides dance, song, story and essay-writing competitions.

He informed that for the benefit of those children interested in films and literature workshop, Rangastalam would be organised during the utsav.  Each participant in the utsav would be given a commendation letter. 

Winners would be given prizes. For more details, children could contact 94900-00378. Chandra Mohan stated that the child participants would have the advantage of visiting the SVK library.

Among those present at the press conference were National Book Trust (India) Telugu Editor Dr Prathipaka Mohan, Book Fair Treasurer P Rajeswara Rao, Adviser Ramdas and Quayyum.
