Kerala Flood Relief Committee mobilises 24 lakh for Kerala flood victims
Bhadrachalam: Though the Kerala floods have receded, its scars on surface of the State and people’s life quite evident. Now the people are struggle to picking up pieces to build up their life afresh.
Feeling their trouble, the people of Bhadrachalam collected funds to help them in these hours of difficulties. They formed a panel named Kerala Flood Relief Committee to collect fund from people for this purpose. The team of the Kerala Flood Relief Committee donated Rs 24, 29,362 to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
Kerala Flood Relief Committee convenor P Durga Prasad, Co-convenor Kona Anand Kumar Sharma, and member Chandra Sekhar went to Kerala and handed over the cheque to the State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in his office on Tuesday The Kerala Flood Relief Committee was formed in the temple town and had taken donations from people in the month of the September.
The residents of the temple town and varous institutions and organisations gave funds generously. The committee also conducted various programmes like mass begging in the temple town to raise funds for the Kerala flood victims. After they had collected the amount, the committee members went to Kerala and submitted the cheque to the State Chief Minster on Tuesday.
