Khammam: The MBC Forum has demanded the political parties to field candidates belonging to the Most Backward Classes in the upcoming elections.

A meeting of the forum district unit was held at the Bahujana JAC office in Mammillagudem in Khammam on Friday. Addressing the meeting forum’s district president B Hanumanth Rao said that there is about 16 per cent population of MBC in the State.

But the political parties do not give importance to them nor field them in the elections to fight for the MLA or MP seat though they treat the MBC people as their vote bank.

There are educated persons in every MBC family today and they wish for a change and want to develop politically, economically and socially. The government is boasting that it sanctioned hundred of crores of loans and is constructing building for every section of society but all the statements remained on papers only, he alleged.

Keeping this in view each political party must allot at least one Assembly seat to the MBC people, he demanded. The BC JAC leader Vinay Kumar said, there is a BC wave in the Khammam district and the people belonging to BCs are eagerly waiting for an opportunity to prove themselves in the political arena.

The representatives of the MBC Forum, M Naresh, Vijay Laxmi, P Padmavathi, Ramesh, P Nageshwar Rao, Rama Rao, Laxman, Nagaraju, Srinu and Saleem were present.
