Hanamkonda (Warangal-U): The Communist Party of India (Marxist) central committee member G Nagaiah promised to launch Bahujan Canteens where meals will be provided at Rs 5 if the Bahujan Left Front (BLF) comes to the power in the State.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, he said with the launching of Bahujan canteens, at least one lakh people will get employment and at the same time, it could fill the bellies of poor people.

“Once BLF come to rule, the minimum wage for a worker would be fixed at Rs 18,000 a month,” he said. He promised to ensure that only a BC candidate is made the Chief Minister. Hence, he appealed all the backward communities to unite and elect only the BLF candidate in the ensuing elections.

The main aim of BLF is to make the Bahujans rule the State. Social justice could be ensured only through BLF government, he added. Nagaiah further said that over 65 seats are being allocated to BC candidates. While 27 candidates were confirmed in the first list, 13 more names were already announced as their candidates. He reminded that the TRS had given only 19 seats to the BCs.

He said that the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme is not helping for the development of women. If BLF gains power it would launch ‘Chaduvula Savitri’ scheme. As part of the scheme, Rs 50,000 would be deposited in the bank if a girl child was born.

Once the girl qualifies in Intermediate Rs 1 lakh would be given to her, if she completes Post Graduation Rs 2 lakh would be paid and in case of engineering graduate Rs 5 lakh would be paid to her, if she completes medicine Rs 25 lakh would be given by the government. The development of women would be possible with such schemes, he added.

Nagaiah said that the BLF government would provide remunerative price to the farmers and not support price like earlier governments. He condemned the Rythu Bandhu scheme through which Rs 4,000 is being paid per acre.

He also criticised that the early polls is undemocratic and would pose a lot of burden on state exchequer. “If the elections are regular and were conducted with general elections, the poll expenditure would be borne by the Central government and there will not be financial burden on state’s coffers. He appealed to the people to read the manifesto of BLF and think why they should choose Bahujans as their leaders.

CPM Urban district secretary Sarampally Vasudeva Reddy, Rural district secretary Ch Rangaiah, BLF Wardhannapet nominee Vasapaka Narsimha and district committee member Godugu Venkat were among others present.
