Voting machines arrive in district

Bhongir: District Collector Anitha Ramachandran informed that as many as 880 balloting units, 690 controlling units were arrived in the district. After preliminary examination they were stored safely in the Agriculture Market Committee  godowns . Speaking on this occasion, she said all the numbers of arrived EVMs will be uploaded on the website after examining their functioning.

The process of examining of the EVMs would be carried out in the presence of representatives of all the recognized parties, she added. The Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines are going to arrive in the district within couple of days.

The Collector informed that all the voters will be educated on EVMs as well as newly introducing VVPATs, through which voters can know to whom they voted for. In this connection the district administration is planning to conduct meetings from 25 of this month at the gram panchayat level.

As  part of the meetings mock polling also carried out to clarify all the doubts of people. In this program JC Ramesh, Municipal Commissioner Venu Gopal Reddy, ACP Jithender Reddy, Collectorate AO Nagarjuna Chary and other officials were participated.
