All-round development only priority

Hanamkonda: Prashanth Jeevan Patil has assumed charge as the District Collector of Warangal Urban here on Thursday. Later speaking to media persons, Patil said that he would give utmost importance in effective implementation of welfare programmes. “I have a better idea of the district since I worked as the Joint Collector of undivided Warangal, besides heading the Rural district administration,” he said.

Stating that 70 per cent of the Urban district is urban-centric, he said that impetus would also be on rural part of the district. “Various developmental works are in progress under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) and the Smart City Mission. In addition to this, the State government is giving Rs 300 crore per annum for the city development,” Patil said, stating that his aim is to complete them at the earliest.

He enquired about the new Collectorate complex coming up at Subedari and told R&B Executive Engineer Rajam and Deputy Engineer Manohar to speed up the works so as to complete the construction work in time besides maintaining quality.

Joint Collector S Dayanand, DRDO Ramu, Zilla Parishad CEO M Vijaygopal, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations (I&PR) DS Jagan and DSO Vijayalaxmi were among others present. Earlier, Patil offered prayers at Bhadrakali temple. The Collector held a courtesy meet with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari.
