Ainavolu (Warangal Urban): The third of the Kakatiya Keerthi Thoranam (Kakatiya Gate), which was found half-a-kilometer away from Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple one-and-a-half-year ago, is now ready for inauguration on Tuesday (August 14).

It may be mentioned here that residents found two fully carved out pillars of Keerthi Thoranam, which were left abandoned without installing, believed to be in 1363 AD. Thanks to the State Archaeological Department for taking up the project to install it by fixing the bits and pieces with an outlay of Rs 46 lakh.

Hitherto, there are two gates one each on the east and south side of the temple. The one on the north side is left abandoned midway without installing. According to historians, the temple has four Keerthi Thoranas - one on each side.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari will inaugurate the re-installed Thoranam on Tuesday. Director of Archaeology of Museums SR Visalatchi and Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata were among others scheduled to witness the programme.
