UJJAIN: On Monday Rahul Gandhi the AICC president  took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding his statements that a pakora seller is also employed and he said that under the BJP-rule even when selling pakoras is not profitable as ‘people’ will be cutting into the margins.

Gandhi was addressing his first public meeting that was held in Madhya Pradesh during his two-day tour to Malwa and Nimar regions, said to be called as ‘Sankalp Yatra’.

The AICC president while interacting with the crowd had responded to the audience about the shouting issues that are being faced under the Modi rule.

He paused mid-speech as he was raising the issue of unemployment, when a woman stated that Modi had asked people to sell pakoras, and Gandhi said, “Even if you cook pakora, someone will steal the money from you. Nobody will get the money. You will not get the value, even for the oil and someone will steal one of the pakoras.”

Gandhi raised the issue of corruption and alleged that businessmen were being sheltered by the BJP-led government at the Centre. He alleged that defaulters like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, and Mehul Choksi were allowed to flee with crores of rupees of the exchequer.

“Narendra Modi calls them ‘Bhai’. They call Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi ‘Bhai’; we call the woman put in jail (for nonpayment of power bill) ‘Behan,” Gandhi said.

Hinting about the recent farmers’ protest, Gandhi said that the BJP had failed to make farming a profitable business. “I promise that within 10 days of Congress coming to the power, the chief minister will waive all farm loans. If the chief minister does not do it, (he will be replaced) the next one will do it.”

Nevertheless, the Congress leaders shouted slogans from the dais in presence of Gandhi - Aap Ka Hath, Hamare Saath; Bharatiya Janata Party Ka Supda Saaf (Join hands with us; wipe out Bharatiya Janata Party).
