Govts implementing anti-people policies: Mahbubnagar CPI leaders

Mahbubnagar: The Communist Party of India(CPI) leaders on Wednesday criticized both the State and Central governments for implementing anti-people policies. They opposed the privatization and grabbing of land from the poor farmers for the sake of corporate companies and denying poor farmers of their livelihood. 

The party leaders of Mahbubnagar unit hoisted the national flag on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day celebrations at their party office in the district.

Addressing the party cadre, Paramesh Goud, CPI district secretary, said that both the State and central government are implementing policies which are against the common people.

He said both the governments are giving priority to the corporate and private bigwigs and handing over large chunks of agriculture land taken away from the farmers.  The government are giving lands to the IT and multinational companies and depriving the poor people of their livelihood.

“The state and Central governments are implementing wrong policies which are against the common man. They are forcefully taking away land from the poor farmers by paying peanuts and later selling the same to the corporate bigwigs in crores of rupees. Later, the corporate people are constructing their own commercial offices, businesses and are earning profits at the expense of the poor farmers.”

“Take the example of Pharma SEZ in Polepally. They acquired more than 3,000 acres and not even 300 acres have come under usage. Similarly,  now the KCR government has taken 100s of acres of farmland for setting up IT Park in Mahbubnagar, but ultimately those lands will fall in hands of real-estate businesses and the beneficiaries are big wigs like foreign investors and big corporate business,” Paramesh said. 

While taking a jibe at the Narendra Modi government, Paramesh Goud opposed the Modi government’s move to allow 100 per cent foreign direct investments in India. He said the Narendra Modi government is pushing India again to the days of British, where the British established East India Company and looted the people of our country for more than 200 years. 

Goud opposed the Central government’s recent move to hand over leading historical and tourist destinations like Red Fort, Taj Mahal to private companies. “For celebrating Independence Day, central government had to pay Rs. 10 lakh to Dalmia as rent for one day to hoist flag on Red Fort,” informed Paramesh Goud.
