After facing a series of debacles, Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja teamed up with his 'Dubai Seenu', 'Venky' director Srinu Vaitla and came up with 'Amar Akbar Anthony'. Ileana D'Cruz staged her comeback in Telugu with this movie.

Ravi Teja sported 3 different looks in the movie but none of the efforts by the movie unit succeeded in rescuing the movie from becoming a flop. Though the film carried a decent pre-release buzz, the film ended up as a disaster at the box office. As per the reports, the comedy entertainer has collected only Rs. 5.80 Cr share worldwide in 4 long days which is very less. In fact, the film is the own release on a commission basis with the distributors who have lost with Naga Chaitanya's 'Savyasachi'. However, the producers have recovered some of the budget with the theatricals which are valued around 20 Cr.

The film is going to complete the full run with a maximum share of 6cr which means the film made a recovery of just 30 percent. This is the third disaster of Srinu Vaitla after 'Aagadu' and 'Bruce Lee'.
