Enlighten people on voting ethics, students told in Eluru
Eluru: Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy called upon students to take up the social responsibility of enlightening people on voting ethics.
He participated in an awareness programme on EVMs and VVPATs organised for students at Sir CRR College here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the students should bring awareness among people on exercising their vote without fear or favour.
They should take initiative in inspiring their friends and relatives take part in election process.
The JC urged the students to vote for the eligible candidates without getting lured by money or other influences. He told them to reject any gifts such as sports kits offered to youth by the contesting candidates.
They should follow conscience and elect right persons. There is no use repenting or levelling allegations on corruption of candidates after electing them. The voter should think twice before selecting a candidate, he advised.
In order to clarify doubts of voters on the authenticity of the EVMs, the awareness programmes are being organised everywhere, he added.
