More equipment kept ready for polls in Eluru

Eluru: In order to meet emergency situations, the election officials in the district have kept additional equipment ready for about 50 polling stations in the district.

Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy said that there are 3,411 polling stations in the district.

In addition to the polling equipment necessary for these polling stations, they will keep more equipment ready which would be sufficient for another 50 polling stations.

He made a surprise visit to the godown where polling equipment is kept and inspected the equipment such as EVMs, VVPATs and other material.

He said that verification of 11,365 EVMs, 8,613 control units and 9,292 VVPATs was completed so far.

Necessary steps were taken to send the polling equipment to the concerned polling stations. He monitored the shifting of the poll equipment to polling stations.
