Delay in storm water works irks civic chief M Rama Rao

Vijayawada: Municipal Commissioner M Rama Rao expressed his dissatisfaction over the delay in Storm Water Drain (SWD) works here on Friday. He ordered the higher officials of public health department to issue show-cause notice to public health deputy officer and Asst Engineer in this connection.

He visited Old and New Rajarajeswari Peta, Judicial Colony, Mahankali Temple road and some other areas in the 49th division. He received complaints from residents against the contractor for demolishing of drains that are even in a better condition. 

He noticed that some drain works were not yet completed under the limits of the division. He also monitored the sanitary works in those areas and ordered the sanitary officers to make it even better.

Executive engineer Koteswara Rao, health officer Madhusudhan Prasad, deputy engineer Ravi Kumar and other officers accompanied him.
