Brain strokes need urgent medical help in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: “The first couple of hours are very crucial in cases involving brain strokes. If proper treatment is given at the right time, the patient can be out of danger and can lead a normal life,” said Anu Hospitals CEO Dr G Ramesh, here on Sunday.

Addressing a gathering at a national conference on brain stroke, heart stroke and Parkinson’s disease  organised by Anu Institute of Neuro and Cardiac Sciences, Dr Ramesh said that latest advanced treatments and procedures were available to treat neurological and cardiac problems.

Paediatric orthosurgeon K Durga Nagaraju said that senior surgeons from various places delivered their valuable speech on brain and cardiac stroke and they have been successfully treating patients suffering from these problems.

Dr T Naveen spoke about the current procedures available for treating Parkinson disease.

Dr Bala Balaji explained about the neuro navigation surgery on the occasion.

More than 500 doctors from across the country participated in the conference.
