Cultivate human angle in delivering verdicts: Chief Justice

Says justice must reach the doorstep of the poorest of poor as envisaged in Article 39-A of the Constitution

Visakhapatnam: Be truthful to your conscience while writing judgments, said Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad T B Radhakrishnan. 

Addressing the judges and a galaxy of lawyers in the city on Saturday, on the eve of D V Subbarao third memorial lecture, organised by the Centre for Policy Studies and Visakhapatnam Public Library, Justice Radhakrishnan said human values were the connecting link between law and justice. 

He said the judges must cultivate human angle while delivering verdict in cases. 

He stated that there was a lot of talent among judges working in rural and semi-urban courts.

He said that the justice must reach the doorstep of the poorest of poor as envisaged in Article 39-A of the Constitution and added that the constitution does not make any difference for poor and rich and every person in India has a right to get justice. 

On the occasion, the Chief Justice released a book compiled by Dr R Venkat Rao, Vice-Chancellor of National Law University. 

Dr Rao and Justice D V S S Somayajulu remembered the services of D V Subbarao to the city as mayor. Dr A Prasanna Kumar of Centre for Policy Studies presided over the meeting. 

District Judge B S Bhanumathi, Family Court Judge Sai Rama Devi, Director, GITAM School of Law Dr Y Satyanarayana,  Forum of Legal Professionals president Kuppili Muralidhar and a large number of students from various law colleges were present.
