3-day Amaravati Balotsav from Dec 17

Vijayawada: The three-day children fest ‘Amaravati Balotsavam’ would begin on December 17 at Krishnaveni Talent School, Patamata, said the organising president Ch Arun Kumar here on Thursday.

He said that about 6,000 students from 160 schools across the districts would participate in the fest. The chief guest of the inaugural day would be social welfare minister Nakka ananda Babu. 

Ch V Chowdary, vice-chairman and MD, AP mineral development corporation, D Vizai Bhaskar, CEO AP Creativity and Cultural Commission, MLC KS Laxman Rao, V Ramesh Babu, SSR Janardhan Rao and others would participate in the inaugural programme.

Organising secretary G Jyothsna said that VMC commissioner would be the guest on the second day of the fest. On the concluding day Water Resource Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao would participate along with district Collector B Lakshmikantham and others.

She said that about 58 events were planned for the fest which include four categories viz seniors (8,9,10), juniors (5,6,7), Sub Juniors (2,3,5) and Baby Juniors (LKG, UKG,1st class). 

About 33 events will be held in the Academic section, 25 in cultural sector, she added. Balotsavam Committee members released the brochure on the occasion.

Committee honorary President Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao, Dr V Vallabharao, P Murali Krishna and others were present.
